Summary


Nearly a month after families expected to be nestled into their new Habitat for Humanity homes, the 16 duplexes in San Pedro remain empty and unfinished.

With half-painted panels, partial patios and dirt mounds for driveways, the homes on Palos Verdes Street overlooking the port appear unchanged from when the blitz of volunteers, celebrities and a former president descended upon the site in October wielding hammers and good will.
