The biggest challenge in public hospital management no longer can expect any help from one of the smallest local hospitals in the region. L.A. County will have to look elsewhere.

That's a disappointment to Fourth District Supervisor Don Knabe, who blamed media criticism for withdrawal of a bid to take over the closed Martin Luther King Jr.-Harbor Hospital by Pacific Hospital of Long Beach. There weren't any other offers on the table.
