The California Supreme Court has upheld the death penalty sentence for a killer convicted of kidnapping and torturing a Redondo Beach man, burning him alive and causing an agonizing death that took hours.

In an opinion issued Thursday, justices said they found no errors in the 1998 prosecution of Spencer Brasure, a Hawthorne man found guilty in the 1996 slaying of Anthony Guest, 20, a former child actor.
