WASHINGTON - A retired Boeing Co. engineer has been arrested on charges that he passed "restricted" trade secrets to his native China about the space shuttle, C-17 cargo plane and other key Southern California aerospace programs, federal officials said Monday.

Dongfan "Greg" Chung, 72, a naturalized U.S. citizen living in Orange, faces eight counts of economic espionage, as well as charges of conspiracy and obstruction of justice. If convicted he faces a maximum of 160 years in federal prison.
